Resident Advisors to City Commission

You have an increased opportunity for resident input by making your opinion heard PRIOR to Commission action on budgeting the expenditures of tax money, snow removal, public safety / neighborhood watch, streets / street lights, trash collection, yard sale dates and other community events, publicly owned lands in Bellemeade, zoning of adjacent areas that can affect your property value, and other local government areas that may affect your daily life.

Budget Committee with a membership of three to seven residents to advise the Mayor in matters relative to creation and amendment of the Budget;

Community Events Committee with a membership of three to nine residents to advise the Public Events Commissioner;

Public Lands Committee with a membership of three to nine residents to advise the Public Lands Commissioner;

Streets and Street Light Committee with a membership of three to eleven residents to advise the Streets and Street Lights Commissioner.

Each committee consists of at least three member.  It elects its own chair and co-chair, sets its own agenda and meeting times and place, and recommends residents to be appointed by the mayor to be added to or removed from the committee.  The committee must meet at least quarterly to maintain active status.  Your participation is needed.  Volunteer just little of your time (maybe eight hours per year).
