It is with tremendous sadness that I must tell everyone that our Mayor, John W Miller, passed away on Friday after a long battle with cancer. He leaves behind a legacy in the City of Bellemeade that will be hard for the rest of us to live up to. He served on the Bellemeade Commission for 7 years. He was a mentor to everyone on the Commission and continued to serve the city for as long as he was physically able. His guidance and leadership will be greatly missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On a more personal note, I considered John a dear friend and he has done more to inspire my civic participation than any one else. John had a way of taking a complicated problem and breaking it down to its simplest pieces. He pushed me out of my comfort zone by setting a high standard and then just waiting for me to match it. I miss him tremendously. Ralph Waldo Emmerson, in the last work he published, wrote “It is not length of life, but depth of life.” John lived with more depth than anyone I’ve known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collection of delinquent taxes shall be made in the manner\nprescribed by law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Section\n5. The proceeds of such taxes are to be used for\nthe general operation purposes of the City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Section\n6.
