In 2021, the city received $59,640 in real property tax revenue. In 2022, under the proposed same 6.6 cents per $100 of value rate, we expect to receive $72,349.85 in real property tax revenue.&nbsp;&nbsp; If the city wanted to generate the exact amount of revenue as we generated last year, we would have to lower the rate to 5.5 cents per $100.00 valuation. The additional revenue generated by the 2022 tax rate will be used in part to increase the salaries of our city clerk and city treasurer.&nbsp; (The Mayor and Commissioners remain unpaid).&nbsp; &nbsp;Also, we expect all of our standard city expenditures to increase as a result of inflation.&nbsp;&nbsp; This includes road repairs, police patrols, utilities, and landscaping. &nbsp;The purpose of the hearing will be for the public to comment on the proposed taxation. The General Assembly pursuant to KRS \u00a7132 .027 requires this public notice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Regular Meeting Agenda<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday, August 8, 2022 7:00 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>700 North Hurstbourne Parkway<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Louisville, KY 40222<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reports &#8211; Each Report Will be Followed by Comments from Each Commissioner Who Wishes to Speak.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Treasurer&#8217;s Report and Adoption<\/li><li>Mayor\u2019s Report &#8211; James Martin<ul><li>No Working Meeting Was Held August 1, 2022 as Mayor Martin was out of town.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Bellemeade City Election will occur November 8, 2022 \u2013The last day to file a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate is Friday, October 28, 2022<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Neighbor Barry Blalock would like to speak with the commission about cash savings options- may come to September meeting.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>American Rescue Plan Funding Update &#8211; total amount of&nbsp; $132,864.00 as part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Bellemeade Commission wants input on how those funds should be spent.&nbsp; All costs must be incurred by December 31, 2024.&nbsp; Eligible uses are now greatly expanded since there is now a presumed amount of lost revenue up to $10,000,000 for each city.&nbsp; Cities can use their full amounts for traditional governmental services.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We may not use the funds for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Pay for debt service or financing expenses<\/li><li>Replenish financial reserves (e.g., rainy day fund)<\/li><li>Satisfy obligations under a settlement agreement, judgment, consent decree, or debt restructuring<\/li><li>Violate existing federal, state, or local laws; regulations; or the intent, terms, and conditions of ARPA<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Reporting Requirement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Current Commission Discussions Have Focused on:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Drainage Ditch clearing behind South Hamptom \u2013 issue include liability and resident permission to enter onto their property.<\/li><li>Partial Reimbursement for Resident Home Camera Installation<\/li><li>Updating the streetlights \u2013 LED and adding more between.<\/li><li>Police security increase.<\/li><li>Tree Planting<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Commissioner Reports<ul><li>Public Lands \u2013<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Public Works \u2013<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Public Safety \u2013 &nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Public Events \u2013<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Yard Sale&nbsp; &#8211; 8\/20\/22<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Public Comments &#8211; In Accordance with Commission Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New Business \u2013<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>First Reading of Property Tax Ordinance (Keeping Tax Rate Same As Last Year)<\/li><li>Discussion, Consideration, and Possible voting on Property Tax ordinance<\/li><li>Discussion of Virtual or Physical Meeting Location Date for future Meetings&nbsp; &#8211;<\/li><li><strong>Adjournment &#8211;<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The next working meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 5, 2022 7:00 pm.
