City Commission of Bellemeade, Kentucky

Bellemeade City Commission is composed of the Mayor who is elected to four year terms and four Commissioners who are elected to two year terms. In order to remain an independent city within Louisville Jefferson County Metro Government, the Commission must remain functional and intact. This requires regular citizen participation.

The City Commission Regular Meetings will be at 7:00 p.m. on the Second Monday of each month at the The Steel Technologies Building, 1st Floor, 700 North Hurstbourne Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222. Meetings are conducted according to rules by local ordinance and are open to the public. Meeting Agenda is posted here.

Regular Commission Meetings are intended to conduct official city business, however a block of time will be allocated for the concerns of citizens or property owners at each meeting. This block of time will be limited depending on how many citizens wish to speak and how long they request. Citizens wishing to speaking at meetings should sign-in with their name, topic and a requested amount of time to speak. Commissioners, at the discretion of the presiding officer, will be given time to respond to the citizen comments once the citizen is done speaking. Commission meetings will generally not be used for open discussion, debate or lengthy conversation with citizens. If you wish to speak more casually to a commissioner about an issue or concern please contact the commissioner or commissioners outside of the regular meeting time. We will make every reasonable effort to make sure citizens are informed about commission actions in time to provide their opinions.

There is also a Commission working meeting on the first Monday of every month at 7:00 PM in the The Steel Technologies Building, 1st Floor, 700 North Hurstbourne Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222.   These meetings are open to the public but no commission business is conducted at these meetings.  They are for discussion, education and planning only.  They are, however, a good opportunity to informally meet with and talk to your commissioner when time allows.  All are invited however attendance at these meetings is not mandatory for Commissioners so we advise you check with the Mayor or Clerk for details about a meeting.

Contact information and Commission areas of responsibility can be found here.

Thank you.
