Last night, 9/25/24 at 6:00 p.m., Andrel White, a partner of VibrantStay, LLC held an informal neighborhood meeting regarding VibrantStay’s desire to rent out 8803 Shelbyville Road as a short term rental. This house is technically outside the City of Bellemeade, but adjacent residents were invited to the meeting. This includes some Bellemeade City residents on Bellemeade Road and Tristan Road. Bellemeade City Attorney, Steve Porter, and I also attended. Literature distributed by VibrantStay, LLC can be found here:
All neighbors in attendance expressed concern and opposition to the request. The home has been a long term rental property for many years. This is the first request for a short term rental permit.
Louisville Metro Office of Planning will make the ultimate determination as to whether the Conditional Use Permit will be issued for this house. The City of Bellemeade is investigating possible responses to the permit request by seeking City Attorney Steve Porter’s advice. We will try to keep you updated on the formal public meetings that Louisville Metro will hold.
Please call or email me if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Mayor, James Martin
